The “O’ Captain My Captain” training course was a week filled with fun, meeting inspiring people, gaining valuable skills, and broadening perspectives. It was an amazing experience during which I met new friends and had the chance to explore a bit of Turkish lifestyle and culture, as well as an experience that I believe will be beneficial to my professional development and future career. We took part in several workshops, discussions and culture activities, everything in a friendly and informal atmosphere that was further underlined by the fact that the project was held in Eskisehir, a lively town known as the students’ city.

I had a wonderful time in Eskisehir! I’m still amazed with people I met in project, and how we connected in a short term. I learned to cooperate, and that is what I found the most valuable experience that I get from the project. Looking at Turks, I can say I noticed some cultural differences, which made my trip even more interesting. I was surprised by their enormous hospitality, they really made me feel like home! :D

The O’Captain, My Captain project was my second training course in my life but the first one in abroad. It took place in Eskisehir, Turkey which is more like a university town with a lot of young people. During my time there I learnt a lot about leadership skills and how can I be a good leader myself and I could participate in creative games and presentations in connection with the topics. Mostly we were in little groups where we could discuss the topics and tasks we got deeper. That gave me lot of new experiences because I got to know the others perspective and it also gave me new ideas. The whole training course gave me a lot. I made new friendships with really good people and I got to know different cultures, I recommend it everybody who wants to get more knowledge in leadership skills through non formal education.

Personally I have learnt a lot during the TC in Turkey. Not only about the leadership (theoretical knowledge) ,but also how difficult is to work in a team and how can I cope with the obstacles. For me the beginning was hard working in a group and I thought that individually I would perform more effectively but as the TC went I realized that that’s not true. Also I have met with amazing people, and made friendships ,which I hope will last for a long time. It was the perfect combination of a perfect training course and a outstanding party :)

The learning mobility project, O Captain my Captain, which took place in Eskisehir, Turkey was huge experience, in developing my leadership skills, time management, as in communication, presentation and ethical values. Discovering the city, having fun and being conscious of the intercultural awareness took big part of the free time, which was the other side of the peer learning experience, that enriched me as a person. Big thanks to the project organizers and the whole team!

The project OCMC was mainly about leadership, ethic values and democracy and it was very interesting. All in all I have to say that this training course was a very, very good experience, everyone should do.  Not only because of the project itself. You get so much new ideas, impressions and have fun all the time. You can learn very much of yourself and can develop your own personality. Same as me: I improved my communication, presentation, self reflection skills a lot and my self confidence increases also. I met lots of nice, friendly people and got a very good impression and comprehension of Turkey. Many thanks to everyone, who was with me on these project – it was great. I advise everyone to do such a project in a foreign country- it will enrich you a lot.
